Who we are
The revival that started in 1904-05 in the United Kingdom has now taken hold in the United States through the Apostolic Church. During the Welsh revival in the United Kingdom in 1904-05, over one hundred thousand people were converted to Christianity. Many of them called themselves the “Children of the Revival.” Thereafter, in 1922 the Apostolic Church was formed and expanded into five continents. With the assistance of Pastor John Kristensen, president of the Apostolic Church Canada, many pastors, including Pastors Kenneth Udoibok and Ledibabari Yorka were called into the ministry in the United States. The Apostolic Church, Minnesota Assembly is an affiliate ministry of the Apostolic Church North America that engages in many outreach ministries. We are a Pentecostal, five-fold ministry of Jesus Christ. In Minnesota, the Apostolic Church also collaborates with communities through Eastside Community Center. We hope to provide community-based substance abuse programming and other social services. Our goal is to provide a forum where all can gather and enjoy one another in a healthy and welcoming environment, irrespective of race and national origins. At the end of every year, after our bills our paid, we will give everything away. We give everything away to those in need. Yes, everything.
Our Mission
We are focused on engaging all peoples, irrespective of race and national origins, in the furtherance of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of this goal, we invite all who are willing to ignore their racial identities for the sake of worshiping our Lord Jesus Christ. We encourage all peoples, no matter their historical experiences, to explore the Grace of God with us. Jesus Christ is truly loving and forgiving. We seek to use our skills to help other people. We are all Children of the Almighty God who created us in His own image. The nature of our creation by God makes us capable of contributing our skills in the building of a healthy Christian community.
Give Everything Away
Today, most people spend their time accumulating treasures that they will leave behind upon death. As Christians, we should spend more time building our Kingdom in Heaven. That Kingdom cannot be built with any material thing here on Earth. Therefore, at the Apostolic Church, we strive to teach our members on how to free ourselves from material possessions. We desire only the necessities of life and give the surplus to those in need. That is why in our church at the end of the year, after our bills are paid, we give everything away. Jesus Christ did not teach us to accumulate worldly possessions in disregard of the Kingdom of Heaven. When He caused money to be obtained from the mouth of a fish to pay tax, He did not give in excess. That instruction is the impetus for us giving everything away at the end of the year. It is truly freeing and encouraging to give generously.
Our Belief & Doctrine
Tenets
- The one true and living God who eternally exists in three persons in unity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- The inherent corruptness of man through the Fall; The necessity of repentance and regeneration by grace and through faith in Christ alone and the eternal separation from God of the finally unrepentant.
- The Virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, triumphant resurrection, ascension and continuing intercession of our Lord Jesus Christ; His second coming and millennial reign upon earth.
- The Justification and sanctification of believers through the finished work of Christ.
- The baptism of the Holy spirit for believers with supernatural signs, empowering the church for its mission in the world.
- The gifts of the Holy Spirit for the building up of the Church and ministry to the world.
- The Sacraments of Baptism by immersion and of the Lord’s Supper
- The divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scriptures.
- Christ’s leadership of the Church through apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers, elders and deacons, for unity, maturity and growth of the church.
- The security of the believer as he remains in Christ
- The privilege and responsibility of bringing tithes and offerings to the Lord.
Guidelines for Belief
- A personal Testimony of your Salvation in Christ. In other words: You need to be a born again Christian, and know Jesus as your Savior and Lord
- Your acknowledgement of and obedience to the Order and Officers of the Church; Apostles, Pastors, Elders and Deacons. In other words: Respect those in leadership. It should be easy to respect them. If not, tell them in the right attitude and in the right place.
- Your presence in the Meetings of the Church and abidance in full Communion; that is, not to absent yourself more than three times from Communion without sufficient reason given for your absence. In other words: Be committed to the church; ‘luke warm’ commitment is no good to God or to the Church.
- Your conformity with the fundamental Doctrines of the Church, as well as with the two Ordinances, namely Baptism by Immersion and the Lord’s Supper. In other words: Follow the teachings of the church.
- That you contribute towards the support of the Cause, as taught unto us in the Word of God. In other words: Be willing to play your part, be a partaker and not a spectator.
- That you keep the counsels of the Church within the Church. In other words: Don’t blabber church business wherever you go. Gossip never did any good.
- That you pray for and help every member, remembering that we are joint members in the Body of Christ. In other words: Live out your Christianity, practice what we preach.
- “Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” In other words: We don’t need people who cause division, but work for unity. Dividers cause trouble; “uniters” bring peace.
